  1. What a beautiful Oasis, friendly people, gated community with excellent security checks on people entering the site. Helpful employees, friendly apprecative residents who take pride in keeping the site clean and actively participate in various activiites. Beautiful scenery with the chocolate Mountain acting as a background. Close to various towns, and points of interest, and Mexican border is approximately only 1.2 hours away. Beautiful sunsets over the Salton Sea make this a favorite destination.

  2. I stay at, and enjoy, both Fountain of Youth and Bashford's. The benefits of the Fountain of Youth Spa include a well-stocked store (they even had fresh fruits and vegetables), a small diner/deli/ice cream parlor and an on-site hairdresser. They frequently have a massage therapist and/or a yoga teacher on site. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. There are more sites available here than at neighboring parks. And that’s a plus; there’s nothing worse than arriving in the middle of nowhere to find there is no room left at your favorite park. Fountain of Youth has more cemented areas and sidewalks, making getting around easier, particularly if you have someone in your party with a mobility issue. There is enough room in the desert for both of these wonderful resorts. Combined, they meet a wide variety of tastes and needs. I really appreciate that both resorts have personal soaking tubs that are chlorine free.

This place reminded me of WW2 compound. I dislike guard gates and the issuing of a 1hr visitor pass to drive 30ft to the tubs was annoying. The Tubs were in various states of repair and were on a large concrete plinth ala Desert Hot Springs “resorts” urgh… If that doesnt put you off, they dont allow day use anyways.. Try Bashfords up the street.. much nicer vibe and $7 for your own private tub

Fountain of Youth is a great place. We like to go there in March, April after most of the snow birds are gone and before it gets to hot, or in October before they arrive. They have two larger pools, one only for adults. Three hot tubs and one really hot mineral pool, the pools are close to each other. There is dry camping for short term camping right next to the pools. Large and clean bathrooms/showers. Many live here year
around. They have laundry facilities and other activities during peak season. The store and cafe on grounds close for the summer. There is a small
restaurant at a nearby campground that is open year around I believe. We love the pools, the only drawback is the “bombers” very large horseflies that bites. But if you come with a fly swatter you’ll be fine, and don’t forget to bring it with you in to the pools.
