  1. We just returned from the Nurturing Nest recommended in the previous posting. It was just what we were looking for. Very low-key and sootihing. For $15 each, we bathed in a candle-lit pool fed by natural hot springs. This place is great. Check it out at http://www.nurturingnest.com/
Keep in mind that the local area is a bit depressed and the dining choices are limited.

This place is for the spiritually challeneged. This place is set at the same artificial vibe that comfortably numb visitors are at. Every “beautifull” aspect of this place is as contirved and artificial as the “experience” it promises. I left feeling like I had just been hussled by a smooth hooker.. literally. The staff are like the Gestapo in their insistance of adhereing to schedules and a list of rules a mile long. Any infractions and they will simply throw you out. I couldnt wait to leave.

For the spritually attuned, try the Yoga retreat center on Sunset and 12th called the Nuturing Nest. The energy is set so high here the numb run from the place. While you are there, try a real healing from an Indian master….

Are you aware of the fact that Two Bunch Palms may have been a retreat developed by Al Capone? Being from the Chicago area that is of interest to me. I have long been fascinated by the gangsters of the prohibition era. Also, I love to visit and collect postcards of their haunts hangouts and artifacts.

  4. expect to spend some serious type money for an afternoon here. I think I spent upwards of $300 bucks for the day. Included a massage and dinner, I think only the wine was seperate. Nice looking property but for $300 bucks I can go to the really nice day spa here and not spend so much money on gas or time in traffic.

If I had money to burn and a chaffeur, I would have had an entirely different take on the experience.
