This collection of highly developed hot spring pools is located downtown, in a public park integrated with many shops and restaurants. Some areas are attractively landscaped and feel park like, while others feel like an outdoor shopping mall. Views might include green hills between tall urban buildings. Mostly people soak their legs in the outdoor pools.
PRICES: While most of the many pools are free to use, for less than $1 USD you can buy the privilege of soaking your feet in a fish pond and letting them nibble your toes.
ACCESS: This is a popular tourist destination. The small park is integrated with many shops and restaurants, with easy access for children and elderly. At least one humble small trough like soaking area is wedged between a busy street and the sidewalk.
Water: odorless and clear, various temperatures around 58° C. The fresh water supports vegetable gardens. The water is supposedly drinkable at the source.
For more travel information on Jiaosi travel, you may visit the Yilan Tourist Information Center located in Jiaosi Park. The center is about 500 meters away from the train station.
Nearby: Lots of food stalls and locally brewed wheat beer. Night market stalls pop up outside of the park, along the streetside sidewalks.
Warning: an unconfirmed report cites that pools are closed Mondays & Thursdays for cleaning.
