  • A gorgeous large Japanese Osen (hot spring) resort, to enjoy the quintessential hot soak in the snow!  Large beautiful open-air baths (rotemburo) wrapped in pristine nature, next to the soothing sound of Takaragawa river.  1 indoor bath.  Huge pools – 3 coed (konyoku) and 1 women only.  According to their website “the best women hot open spa in the continent of Japan.”

    This very popular picturesque onsen (hot springs)  is rated as one of the best onsens  in Japan. There are several hot springs just south of the main buildings,  alongside the river on either side. The associated ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel) is called Osenkaku.

      Absolutely Gorgeous! The water, the surrounding lush nature. And polished wood under your feet if you choose to stay at the old lovingly renovated hotel. Wish the latter were cheaper, but it’s a 4-star hotel, after all.
